Abstract

The article examines the development of small business in mahallas (neighborhoods) of Uzbekistan and the factors influencing it. A comparative analysis of scientific approaches to the socio-economic essence and significance of the concept of entrepreneurship is conducted. The dynamics of small business development in the republic and its place in the national economy, the distribution of small businesses by regions and sectors are analyzed. The need for small business development in neighborhoods ( in Uzbek - mahalla), which are considered important institutional structures in Uzbekistan, and its importance for ensuring employment and improving the well-being of the population are studied. The organizational, economic, regulatory, and legal foundations of the “mahallabai” work system are revealed. The main factors influencing the development of this “mahallabai” work system are studied, and recommendations for its improvement are developed.
