Developing Students’ Grammatical Competence through Syntactic Synonymy in English Language Teaching: A Theoretical and Experimental Study

 The development of grammatical competence is important in effective foreign language communication and professional teacher training. This article describes the theoretical foundations of syntactic synonymy and grammatical competence, consists of theoretical basis of syntactic synonymy, description of practical manual prepared by the requirements of the academic discipline “Practice of language aspects” and the results of pedagogical experiment. Syntactic synonymy enables learners to express the same idea through different grammatical structures, promoting grammatical flexibility, contextual accuracy and communicative effectiveness.  The findings show that integrating syntactic synonymy into foreign language teaching contributes to the improvement of students’ grammatical competence.
