Poetic Models Of National Worldview And Ethnocultural Memory In Uzbek And Karakalpak Poetry

The article comparatively examines the representation of national worldview and ethnocultural memory through poetic images in twentieth-century Uzbek and Karakalpak poetry. Based on poems by Muhammad Yusuf, Usmon Azim, Erkin Vohidov, Ibrayim Yusupov, and Soginboy Ibragimov, it identifies material, epic, generational, toponymic, acoustic, verbal, epigraphic, and cosmic models of memory. A national poetic image is interpreted as an artistic unity of ethnographic detail, collective memory, and authorial reinterpretation.
